The company undertakes all types of building work ranging from; luxury residential projects, new village halls, churches, listed buildings and bespoke small works. Typical project values range from £250,000 up to £3.5million, with a 30-strong multi-skilled direct labour force experienced in both new build and refurbishment of listed properties.
Prior to selecting Eque2’s EValuate estimating software, Matrod were using manual spreadsheets to manage the entire businesses estimating process. The challenge Matrod faced was the speed that it was taking to fully price an estimate. Another key challenge for the company was to gain a better understanding of what they needed to buy, giving them a procurement schedule of item and resources they would need for a job. Matrod went to market to seek a modern estimating solution which could help the company grow further and to help minimise errors.
In February, Matrod selected EValuate along with the Onscreen Take-off module to help link take-offs directly to an estimate. The main factors behind the company’s decision to implement EValuate was to remove the potential errors involved with using manual spreadsheets, and to have the ability create a consistent pre- and post-contract basis for reporting on all projects. Another key reason for the company’s selection was being able to create and maintain a central repository of historical cost data for all projects.
